I have been fighting with acne since in the
5th grade of elementary school. My first acne was on my left cheek.
A big one and eye-catching enough to get people’s attention. My mom told me to
put cream (it was k*elly p*earl) on it. Later I knew that it was hormonal acne.
But it didn't stop me from trying another skin products.
I was that victim of advertisement who
believed that beautiful skin was of which had fair complexion. I even trust
somebody who said that I could put whitening body lotion on my face to get
brighter skin face. And suddenly my face felt burnt at night. I put ice cube on
my face but it couldn’t help.
Since elementary school I had tried some face
(day) cream and some face wash. I just followed what people wear on their face
or what seemed fancy on TV advertisement. I didn’t know how to start using
skincare or learned what my skin actually needed.
Then came my puberty when my skin looked
better and became glowing. I was in high school. But when I was in the last
year of senior high, my hormonal acne bothered me. I was a bit stressed out
since I was preparing for national exam and college enrollment test.
Then the worst nightmare of my skin finally
happened. It was my worst breakout. My skin became dull, sometimes oily, and
pimples everywhere. I gave up on curing myself so I went to see doctor. Until
the day I wrote on this blog, I had meet 6 different doctors (some are
dermatologist, the rest I still doubt it) to cure my acne caused of hormonal or
skincare usage. I had had hormonal injection, drinking zinc pills, laser for
acne, etc.
In this year (2018) finally I have courage
to stop using doctor skincare product. Since I know number 1 rule for beauty
clinic skincare product is you have to consult to your doctor regularly which I
can’t do anymore since I currently live away from big cities where the clinic
branch lies.
And the journey begins…
p.s. I'll share my progress on my next post
